Where Do You See Yourself In Five Years?

This Reverb 10 prompt reminds me of a job interview: Imagine yourself five years from now. What advice would you give your current self for the year ahead? I expect to have a two or three year old child, no money, a published novel, and a noisy cat. I'd like to be living in Toronto or Austin but I probably won't be able to afford to sell this damnable house.

I suppose my advice is to practice patience now, because nothing I plan to do will be easy, fun, or quick. Hopefully it will all be rewarding.

UPDATE FROM 2015: Holy wow was I wrong. No kid, okay monetarily, novel publishing in 2017... The noisy cat is still here. We still haven't sold the damnable house. The patience paid off, though.
